How can I help you?
Supporting Individuals Facing Neurodiversity, Trauma, and Personal Challenges

Individuals experiencing complexities related to neurodiversity, trauma, or personal challenges can greatly benefit from counseling and therapy. I provide a safe and structured environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, leading to greater self-understanding and the development of effective coping strategies.

Understanding Neurodiversity

Neurodiversity refers to a range of neurological variations, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, and more. Counseling can support neurodiverse individuals by fostering self-acceptance and improving social skills. Social skills training can also be beneficial, helping clients navigate relationships and social situations more effectively.

Addressing Trauma

Trauma can have profound and lasting effects on mental health, often manifesting as anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I provide trauma-informed care that acknowledges the impact trauma has on an individual's life. Each session is tailored to meet your specific needs, and I use a combination of therapeutic modalities, such as Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My goal is to create a safe space where you can share your stories and emotions without judgment, helping you regain a sense of control and empowerment.

Overcoming Personal Challenges

Life presents a variety of personal challenges, from relationship issues to career uncertainties. Counseling provides a platform for exploring these challenges and identifying potential solutions. Approaches like Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) help you envision your desired future and identify steps to achieve it, fostering a proactive mindset. Motivational Interviewing can also help resolve ambivalence and strengthen your commitment to change, particularly for those facing addiction or behavioral issues

SERVICES
01
COUNSELLING/THERAPY
Counselling plays a crucial role in supporting individuals dealing with neurodiversity, trauma, and personal challenges. By employing various therapeutic methods, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Ultimately, counselling not only aids in healing and coping but also empowers you to embrace your identity and navigate life’s complexities with resilience. Through the therapeutic relationship, you will gain insights that foster personal growth and improved mental well-being.
02
GROUP THERAPY / WORKSHOPS
A big part of group therapy is recognizing that you are amongst people who are experiencing similar emotions and circumstances. Being able to give and receive support from the other members of the group creates a tight bond among the members. By sharing experiences, a sense of empowerment emerges.
Art Therapy within a group setting, creates a space for a flow of creative energies encouraging self-expression ideas, emotions, reflection, and transformation.
Individual Art Therapy
03
.Art therapy is an evidence-based practice that utilizes creative expression to promote emotional healing and psychological well-being. Research shows that engaging in artistic activities can help individuals process trauma, reduce anxiety, and improve self-esteem. It is especially beneficial for those who may struggle to articulate their feelings verbally, such as individuals with developmental disabilities, or those experiencing severe emotional distress. By providing a non-verbal outlet for expression, art therapy allows clients to explore their emotions and experiences in a safe and supportive environment, fostering personal insight and growth.

Registered Counsellor (ACA)
Registered Creative Arts Psychotherapist.(ANZACATA)
Bachelor of Creative Arts Psychotherapy.

I’m a qualified counsellor, registered with the ACA, and I hold a BA in Creative Arts Psychotherapy. My approach is holistic, focusing on guiding clients toward discovering and building on their strengths. I have experience working with adults facing life’s challenges, as well as young children and adolescents dealing with social, emotional, and behavioural issues.

Currently, some of the work I do is with young people who struggle to engage in mainstream schools. By combining counselling and art therapy, we’ve seen remarkable improvements in their confidence and motivation.

Supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), across all levels, is another key part of my work.

Working with NDIS participants is also a part of my work. I find working , often, with some of the most vulnerable people in our society, extremely rewarding. Witnessing improvements in mental health, self confidence and functional capacity is one of the reasons I love working in this industry.

I’m trauma-informed, and I truly believe that emotional resilience and strength are natural outcomes of therapy. We all have incredible qualities within us—therapy helps you find them . Once these strengths are accessed you can lean on them during tough times and embraceand celebrate them when joy comes your way.
